While you are on "Straddie", take a day off to visit our northern neighbour Moreton Island. This Island offers you beautiful beaches on both sides of the Island and snorkelling at the Wrecks second to none. Abundant in both flora and fauna it is truly a natural haven. You can watch for Humpback Whales as they migrate north and south as we travel along the Eastern Beach. This is simply spectacular. To the west you can view the Glasshouse Mountains and Bribie Island. If you like over night stays at the Tangalooma Resort can be arranged so you can feed the Dolphins after dusk.

The Snorkelling Day Tour Features:
  • Use of mask, snorkel and flippers
  • All National Parks and Wildlife permits
  • Delicious BBQ on the beach
  • Barge trip to Moreton Island
  • Use of fishing rods
  • Bait supplied

This is a Fantastic 4WD Day Out!
Just a couple of notes of how we get to Moreton Island.
You can bring your 4WD over on the 0730am Barge from Cleveland (Tag Along Tour) arriving at 0815am or if you are on foot then we ask you to catch the 0800am water taxi and we will pick you up at 0825am.
When we meet we drive to Amity Point where the Barge leaves for Moreton Island. The cost is $80.00 return per vehicle.
If you are in your own vehicle the cost is up to you, but if you are with us then the $80.00 will get divided between travellers to make it cheaper.
When on Moreton Island we drive through the Township of Kooringal and make our way through the bird sanctuary onto the Eastern Beach.
We travel up the beach talking about all the history of the Island (via 2-way provided) until we get to the Middle Road. From there we travel across the Island to the "Wrecks" at Tangalooma.
We explore the wrecks and continue North to North Point where we settle down for our BBQ on the beach for lunch. This is a great spot as it is sheltered and has a beautiful outlook towards the Coral Sea.
After our sumptuous lunch we go the Lighthouse and admire the spectacular views from here. Pick up some info from the Information Centre which is right on the tip of Cape Moreton.
Then we head down the hill and drive the FULL length of the Island on the ocean side where we head back to the Barge landing area for our trip back to Straddie. This is truely spectacular, the water being that postcard blue colour and we see if we can pick the fish in the waves as we travel along.
We arrive back on Straddie approx 3.30pm so it is then a simple matter of finding our Koala (always nice to see) at Amity Point whilst we are there and then we head back into Dunwich for the return journeys home.
So as you can see everything goes smoothly and you all get to see Moreton Island's beauty. SO PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS TOUR!
