Brown Lake | |
| |

The Ducks also call Brown Lake home. |

This water in this lake is purely rainwater. So therefore the level is controlled by nature. The hotter and drier the temperature gets, the lower the lake becomes. And also visa versa, the wetter the higher the level of the lake becomes.
This lake is accessible by conventional vehicles as the road is a serviced dirt road with regular grading. It then makes the lake ideal for Picnics and BBQ's.
The goannas also want their share of the tucker when cooked. They can be seen in the trees and on the ground in the search for some scraps. The Kookaburras also like a free feed if they can get it. As you know it is not wise to feed the wildlife as they then become reliant on humans for their food.
The lake is a great swimming spot with the level going down gradually and not a sudden drop off. Therefore it is better and safer for your children.

| Brown Lake is one of the many natural lakes on the Island. It is a beautiful swimming hole, especially in the summer months when the water is nice and warm.
The lake area has numerous B-B-Q settings. Here whilst you eat the Kookaburras and the Goannas beg you for some table scraps.
This Lake is closed to all Motor Boats as this precious resource plays an important part in suppling the water to so many animals and bird life.
You can swim this Lake all the year round!
