The Lakes and Beaches on "Straddie".
The Lakes on Straddie are unique as some of the lakes are perched lakes and some of the lakes are made up of rain water. For example: When it rains, as the Island is a sand Island, the rain is filtered through the sand and is captured in a "bowl" like shape made of rock, beneath the surface. When this bowl is full it then overflows and makes its way to the surface. And that is why we call them Window Lakes.
Some of the lakes are accessible by conventional vehicles (busses, cars) but other lakes are only accessible by 4wd vehicles.
We see them all on our tour!
