There were lost homes within the bush area so it became a trying time for some residents. We wish them all the very best and they know the Community is behind them all the way!
Hope there are no more fires of this type this or next year.
The fire on Straddie started in bushland on Saturday 8 December and lasted 5 days. This was a particularly nasty fire because of the hot, dry and windy conditions that made it hard to put out. However on the last day and mind you we had got it under control, Mother Nature provided a good dose of rain that had eluded us for those 5 days. There were lost homes within the bush area so it became a trying time for some residents. We wish them all the very best and they know the Community is behind them all the way! Hope there are no more fires of this type this or next year.
